What's inside the Dubai Frame?
The Dubai Frame is a walk-through attraction, not a photo stop – a 150 m tall, 95 m wide frame of two towers joined at the top, run by Dubai Municipality. A visit follows one route, and a standard ticket covers all of it.
- Old Dubai gallery: a multimedia exhibition on the mezzanine that traces the city from fishing village to modern metropolis.
- The lift: it climbs 48 floors in 75 seconds to the top of the Frame.
- Sky Deck and Sky Bridge: the 93 m bridge between the two towers, 150 m above Zabeel Park, has a glass floor section that turns from frosted to clear as you step onto it.
- Future Dubai gallery: on the way down, you exit the lift into a swirling tunnel of sound and projected visuals.
The view is the point of the whole design. Looking north from the Sky Deck you see old Dubai – Deira, Bur Dubai and the Creek; looking south you see new Dubai – Downtown, Business Bay and the Burj Khalifa. The "frame" is literal: the building sits between the two halves of the city.
The outside is clad in more than 15,000 m² of gold-coloured stainless steel, which is why some sellers call it the "Golden Frame". That's a nickname, not a separate or premium ticket.
Dubai Frame vs Burj Khalifa – which should you visit?
They're different experiences, and of the two, only the Frame lets you see the Burj Khalifa. The Frame's Sky Deck is 150 m up for ~AED 50. Pick the Frame if you want the old-and-new Dubai story, the glass floor and a skyline view with the Burj Khalifa in it, for under a third of the price. Pick the Burj if sheer height is the point: its main decks are three times higher.
Doing both in one day is easy – they're a short taxi ride apart, and the Frame's 21:00 closing time lets you do the Burj by day and the Frame at sunset. Several resellers sell combo tickets covering both at a discount on buying them separately. Compare the combo price with ~AED 50 plus the Burj time slot you actually want before you buy.
Ticket prices – tourist, resident and senior rates
These are the official prices on dubaiframe.ae, run by Dubai Municipality, checked on 23 September 2026:

The official list has no separate tourist, resident or senior rate – just one adult price, with free entry only for under-3s and people of determination. Some ticket sites say senior citizens or Emirati residents get discounted or free entry, but they disagree on who qualifies and by how much.
So treat it as a maybe: residents and senior citizens may qualify for discounted or free entry with a valid Emirates ID, so check current terms at the Gate 4 counter or on the official booking site before you pay online. Companion tickets for people of determination are issued at the counter.
GetYourGuide costs about the same – ~AED 51 on 23 September 2026, converted from $14 at the dirham's fixed peg. The difference is flexibility: its ticket lets you enter at any time during opening hours on your date, while the official site asks you to arrive 10–15 minutes before a scheduled admission time. The GetYourGuide ticket is non-refundable, so book once your date is fixed.
Best time to visit and where to get the best photo
Sunset is the Frame's best slot – and because it's open until 21:00, you can catch it from the Sky Deck in any month. Dubai's sunset moves from about 17:30 in December to about 19:10 in June. Stay after dark and the view south turns into Downtown's lit-up skyline.
For the Burj Khalifa, shoot south from the Sky Deck. For the Frame itself, step back into Zabeel Park, where the whole gold-clad structure fits in one shot – late-afternoon light warms the cladding best.
The Dubai Frame is worth an hour on almost any Dubai trip: ~AED 50 buys a 150 m view of both halves of the city, with the Burj Khalifa in it.
