What is La Perle by Dragone?
La Perle is a resident water-and-aerial show: acrobats, divers and aerialists perform on a stage that switches from dry floor to pool and back in seconds. Its theatre at Al Habtoor City, just off Sheikh Zayed Road beside the Dubai Water Canal, was built for it – 1,288 seats in a 270-degree arc around a stage holding 2.7 million litres of water.
Expect high dives into the on-stage pool, waterfalls down the walls, rain inside the auditorium and projections across the walls and floor, with speakers built into the seats. The story draws on Dubai itself – its past, present and future.
La Perle premiered on 13 September 2017, created by Franco Dragone with Al Habtoor Group chairman Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor. Dragone died in 2022, aged 69; the show still carries his name.
Seating – which tier should you book?
Seat position sets the price at La Perle, and the 270-degree layout keeps every tier close to the stage – the audience wraps around three sides of the pool rather than facing it from a distance.
On GetYourGuide you book by tier. Its booking page lists eight seating categories; four were shown with prices for a show on 26 September 2026:

Ticket guides place Gold in the central sections facing the stage, with Silver further round the sides and towards the back. For a first visit, Gold is the safe choice – ~AED 110 more than Silver B for a straight-on view of both the pool and the aerial work above it.
Silver B is the budget pick, and every seat in it is still within 14 rows of the stage. Platinum adds the VIP lounge to a premium seat – a treat rather than a necessity.
If one exact seat matters, book on the official La Perle website, which lets you click on specific available seats during booking. Several ticket guides also say the front rows can catch spray during the water sequences – worth knowing if you're dressed up.
La Perle vs Cirque du Soleil
La Perle isn't a Cirque du Soleil show, but it comes from the same creative line. Franco Dragone joined Cirque du Soleil in the 1980s and created ten of its shows over twelve years, including Mystère, Saltimbanco, Quidam, Alegría, O and La Nouba.
He left on good terms in 2000 and set up his own company. It went on to create Celine Dion's Las Vegas residency A New Day and two big water shows – Le Rêve in Las Vegas and The House of Dancing Water in Macau – before La Perle opened in Dubai.
If you've seen O in Las Vegas, La Perle is its closest relative: the same creator and the same idea of a stage that is also a pool. What's different is the setting: a purpose-built Dubai theatre and a story about the city.
Dress code and what to know before you go
La Perle's dress code is smart casual – both its website and its GetYourGuide listing say so. Its own guidance suggests chinos and a casual shirt for men, and jumpsuits, dresses or heels for women. It doesn't mention jeans or trainers either way – smart versions of both fit "smart casual"; beachwear and flip-flops don't.
- Arrival: La Perle recommends reaching Al Habtoor City 45–60 minutes before the show, and estimates about 10 minutes by road from Downtown Dubai, 20 from Dubai Marina or Palm Jumeirah and 25 from DXB airport.
- Late arrival: latecomers are let in at a suitable break and may be seated elsewhere.
- Children: ages 2 and over are welcome, and each child needs a ticket.
- Refunds: none for personal reasons; if a show is cancelled, you get a new date or a voucher.
- Collecting tickets: tickets can be collected 30–60 minutes before the show. Children must be there in person with an Emirates ID or passport, alongside an adult with a paid ticket.
Book La Perle for one big-production night out in Dubai: Gold on a first visit, Silver B if price matters more than angle.
