Book JW Marriott Hotel Marina – the former Address Dubai Marina, linked to Dubai Marina Mall – for an all-round Marina base, or Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach to walk straight onto the sand at JBR. Season matters more than stars here: Sofitel's cheapest room ran ~€130 a night in July against ~€310 in November in our September 2026 sample, so book a free-cancellation rate once your dates are fixed.

Dubai Marina or JBR: which side should you stay on?
JBR (Jumeirah Beach Residence) is the beachfront edge of Dubai Marina, not a separate area. The Marina's towers stand around a yacht-lined canal; JBR's hotels and The Walk promenade run along the sea side of it, a few minutes apart on foot. Stay Marina-side for the waterfront promenade, Dubai Marina Mall and the Metro; stay JBR-side to step straight onto the free public beach.
Two similar names cause most booking mistakes. "Jumeirah Beach" usually means the older coastline around Umm Suqeim and the Burj Al Arab, and Palm Jumeirah is the palm-shaped artificial island – neither is walkable from the Marina. The Jumeirah Beach Hotel, for example, is in Umm Suqeim, not at JBR, which is why it isn't on this list.
Which luxury hotels in Dubai Marina are worth booking?
JW Marriott Hotel Marina
This is JW Marriott Hotel Marina, the hotel that was the Address Dubai Marina until 1 January 2024, when it was reflagged as a JW Marriott – so if a friend recommended "the Address in the Marina", this is the building. It is directly linked to Dubai Marina Mall, with an infinity pool on level 4 and a separate children's pool.
Guest scores sit in the Superb band across thousands of Booking.com reviews. It is not the cheapest five-star here – ~€325 in November and ~€424 in July in our sample, unusually pricier in summer – but it's the easiest base on this page: mall, promenade and taxis on the doorstep.
Grosvenor House, a Luxury Collection Hotel
Grosvenor House is the twin-tower landmark on the Marina promenade, two 45-storey towers holding around 750 rooms, suites and apartments, with two spas, two pools and two gyms between them.
It scored the highest guest rating of the five-star hotels in our Marina sample, in the Exceptional band, yet cost from ~€195 a night in July and ~€296 in November – less than half of JW Marriott's July rate. For a luxury stay on a mid-range budget, this is the pick.
Ciel Dubai Marina
Ciel is the world's tallest hotel, at 377m and 82 floors, recognised by Guinness World Records after it opened in November 2025. It has 1,004 rooms and a rooftop pool, and Barasti Beach is an 8-minute walk away.
The height is the whole appeal – ask for a high floor when you book – and early reviews sit in the Superb band after less than a year open. Rates ran from ~€180 in July to ~€284 in November, surprisingly close to Grosvenor House.
InterContinental Dubai Marina
InterContinental Dubai Marina stands on the promenade directly facing Dubai Marina Mall, with an outdoor pool and marina views. Its Club lounge rooms include breakfast, afternoon tea and evening drinks – good value if you'd otherwise pay Marina restaurant prices three times a day.
Guest scores sit in the Superb band, and rates ran from ~€245 in July to ~€295 in November – the smallest seasonal swing among the five-star hotels we checked.
Which hotels are right on JBR beach?
Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach
Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach sits on the beach side of JBR, on The Walk, with sea-view balconies, a pool lounge overlooking the water and the JBR 2 tram stop about 500m away. It is rated Superb across thousands of Booking.com reviews.
It is also the biggest seasonal swing on this page: ~€130 a night in July, ~€310 in November even with a promotional discount applied. If you can travel in summer, a five-star beachfront room costs less here than a budget hotel in Downtown in November.
Rove JBR
Rove JBR is a small, 63-room budget hotel that opened in 2024 at the start of The Walk, close to the beach and the promenade's restaurants. Guest scores are in the Exceptional band, well above what the price suggests.
Our sample found ~€115 a night in July and ~€175 in November – the cheapest room by the sea on this list. With only 63 rooms there isn't much of it to go round, so book early for November–March dates.
Are there cheap hotels in Dubai Marina?
Rove Dubai Marina
Rove Dubai Marina is a short walk from DMCC station on the Metro's Red Line, which makes it the budget pick if you plan to Metro to Downtown and Old Dubai. Rooms include a sofa bed suitable for a child, and there's an outdoor pool. Guest scores sit in the Superb band across thousands of reviews.
Its rate barely moved between seasons in our sample – ~€158 in July, ~€162 in November – so it's the steadiest-priced room here, not the cheapest.
The cheapest room we found in the Marina or JBR was ~€115 (about AED 490) at Rove JBR in July, so "50 AED" or "100 AED a night" searches won't find a hotel room here. The genuinely cheap hotels are in Deira and Bur Dubai, around Dubai Creek. The Marina does have plenty of serviced hotel apartments, which suit longer stays or families who want a kitchen.
Is Dubai Marina good for families?
More than Downtown, because of the beach. The free public beach at JBR, The Walk's cafés and the tram make a genuinely easy family day, and Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach and Rove JBR both put you within a few minutes of the sand. Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, also on JBR, runs a kids' club and a private beach.
For a full resort with a waterpark, look just beyond the Marina: The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Waterpark, in Al Sufouh, includes waterpark access for room guests – though it cost ~€426 a night in November in our sample. The big family resorts on Palm Jumeirah are a separate area, and a guide to those is on the way.
JW Marriott Hotel Marina for convenience, Grosvenor House for luxury value, Sofitel or Rove JBR for the beach – and travel in summer if price matters most.
If you're still deciding between areas, compare the best hotels in Downtown Dubai, where the Burj Khalifa is on foot. For car-free transport tips, see getting around Dubai by Metro and tram, and plan your days with the 3-day Dubai itinerary.
