Atlantis The Palm or Atlantis The Royal: which should you book?
The two Atlantis resorts stand next door to each other at the tip of the Palm's crescent, roughly a 10-minute walk apart, with buggies running between them. Guests of both get the Aquaventure waterpark and the Lost World Aquarium, so the waterpark is not the deciding factor – what you pay for on top of it is.
Atlantis, The Palm
The original Atlantis, The Palm is the family choice: room rates include unlimited Aquaventure access, and Aquaventure holds the Guinness World Records title for the most waterslides in a waterpark. Half-board plans are sold alongside breakfast rates, and guest scores sit in the Superb band across many thousands of Booking.com reviews.
It cost ~€420 a night in July and ~€625 in November in our sample. One practical note: Booking.com currently flags enhancement work in selected areas of the resort, so ask what's affected before you book.
Atlantis The Royal
Atlantis The Royal opened in February 2023, a few weeks after a private Beyoncé concert for invited guests – the nearest thing to an answer when people ask where celebrities stay in Dubai. It has 16 restaurants and bars, including seven from celebrity chefs and one with a Michelin star, plus a sky pool and the Skyblaze fountain show.
At ~€1,400 in July it cost more than three times the original; in November the gap narrowed to ~€1,020 against ~€625. Book it for the rooms, the restaurants and a calmer, design-led stay; skip it if the waterpark is the reason you came, because you get that next door for far less.
Which Palm Jumeirah hotels are best for families?
Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah
Waldorf Astoria sits on the East Crescent with a kids' club, a supervised floating waterpark and a private beach, plus six restaurants including the Mezzerie buffet. Every room has a balcony facing the sea or the skyline.
It is one of only two Palm resorts in our sample selling full board on Booking.com as well as half board, which simplifies a family budget. Rates ran from ~€165 in July to ~€420 in November, and guest scores sit in the Excellent band.
Fairmont The Palm
Fairmont The Palm is on the trunk, within walking distance of Palm Jumeirah Mall, with a kids' club and splash park for children and an adults-only pool for everyone else. It has its own private beach and a long list of restaurants, from Brazilian to Indian.
Being on the trunk rather than the crescent makes it the easier base for leaving the island. Rates ran from ~€180 in July to ~€360 in November, and guest scores sit in the Excellent band.
Are there all-inclusive hotels on Palm Jumeirah?
Rixos The Palm Hotel and Suites
Rixos The Palm is the Palm's dedicated all-inclusive resort: Booking.com lists it only as "Ultra All Inclusive", with food and drinks across its restaurants and bars built into the rate. It sits on the East Crescent with a private beach, a kids' club and sea-view balconies in every room, and guest scores sit in the Superb band.
On our November 2026 dates, Booking.com only sold it for stays of three nights or more, from ~€1,841 for three nights – about ~€615 a night for two, meals and drinks included. July 2027 wasn't on sale yet.
At the other resorts we checked, "all-inclusive" really means a meal plan. On Booking.com, both Atlantis resorts, FIVE, Fairmont and Anantara sell breakfast and half-board rates, and Waldorf Astoria and Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah add full board. That covers meals, not the bar tab, so compare the totals before assuming a package is cheaper.
Which Palm Jumeirah hotel suits couples?
Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort
Anantara's selling point is its villas: the Over Water Villas stand over the sea, and the Beach Pool Villas have private infinity pools. There is a Thai-inspired spa, candlelit beach dinners and a separate kids' and teens' club.
Guest scores sit in the Very good band, a notch below the others here. Rates ran from ~€205 in July to ~€330 in November for a standard room; the villas cost more.
FIVE Palm Jumeirah Dubai
FIVE Palm Jumeirah is the pick for a lively pool scene: a landmark on the trunk with 470 rooms, a private beach and five pools, one of them 55m long. Guest reviews mention a busy, music-led pool, which is the draw for some couples and a reason to look elsewhere for others.
It was also the cheapest Palm hotel in our July sample, from ~€155 in July to ~€380 in November, with guest scores in the Superb band. The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm would compete for couples here too, but its rooms are closed for refurbishment until a planned reopening on 1 November 2026.
Is there a cheap hotel on Palm Jumeirah?
No – the Palm has no genuine budget tier. "Cheap hotels Palm Jumeirah" searches mostly return the same five-star resorts at a discount, and the lowest rate we found was FIVE at ~€155 in July. For a real budget room, Deira and Bur Dubai around Dubai Creek are the places to look.
One naming trap to avoid: Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Jumeirah Al Naseem are not on Palm Jumeirah. "Jumeirah" is both a hotel brand and a stretch of coast, and both hotels sit near the Burj Al Arab – see the best hotels on Jumeirah Beach instead.
How do you get to and around Palm Jumeirah without a car?
The Palm Monorail runs 5.45km from Palm Gateway, which links to the Dubai Tram, up the trunk to Atlantis Aquaventure station, stopping at Al Ittihad Park and Palm Jumeirah Mall. It was suspended for maintenance in December 2025 and resumed in June 2026, so check it's running before building a day around it.
Most Palm resorts are roughly 30–40km from Dubai International Airport, so budget a proper taxi fare or a pre-booked transfer. From Palm Gateway, the Tram reaches the Metro's Red Line – see getting around Dubai without a car for how the network fits together.
Atlantis The Palm for families, Rixos for all-inclusive, Anantara's villas for couples – and FIVE if price matters most.
With the resort chosen, build the rest of the trip with the 3-day Dubai itinerary, swapping its Marina beach day for a day at Aquaventure.
